Book now to get the opportunity to go sailing with Autism on the Water. Tickets usually become fully booked very quickly so please be prompt to avoid missing out. If you have any questions about the event that are not answered by the text below, please email kirstyaotw1@gmail.com.
The event is available to all autistic people, their families and carers. Please read the following information before booking.
All people under the age of 18 and adults with high support needs must be accompanied by an adult who is responsible for their safety. This adult must be capable of keeping an eye on all of the children and high needs adults in their care. Please be aware that, while you are free to use your discretion as to how many individuals you are capable of supervising, the boat environment may be more demanding than the environment you are used to and there is an absolute maximum of four children or high needs adults to each accompanying adult (known as a 1:4 ratio).
You must book a ticket for EVERY person who will be on board the boat. Please ensure that all members of your party are booked onto the same boat and the same time slot. If your party is larger than the available space on any remaining sail, you may split it into two or more sub-parties, but please ensure that the sub-parties are adequately in ratio in terms of supervision by accompanying adults.
There are four time slots and four boats available for booking. Please ensure that you book on a time slot that enables you to travel to the marina in plenty of time for your trip. Please also pay attention to whether you are booking on a yacht or motorboat. Motorboats are generally faster than yachts and so may not be suitable for the easily flustered. Motorboats are also generally more accessible than yachts and so may be more suitable for those with physical limitations.
Some of the details you provide will be passed along to our volunteers to enable them to adapt as best possible to your needs. This will include your name, age group, the other members of your party, the time slot and boat you are booked on, whether you have consented to have photos and videos taken, which members of your party have autism and any additional information you provide regarding the physical, social and psychological needs of the members of your party. It will be limited to information that enables the volunteers to provide you with the best possible experience and so will not include your email address.
Please ensure that you provide an email address which you check regularly as you will receive information about the Open Day in the week running up to the event to help your trip run smoothly.
If you discover that you are no longer able to attend the event for any reason, please contact us at kirstyaotw1@gmail.com so that your tickets can be reallocated to another family.
All spaces are free but donations are always welcome. You can donate using our DONATE page on this website.
